Artist makes mosaic guitars for blues boss with everything
ON THE eve of the 25th anniversary of Bluesfest, artist Jennifer Edwards wants to catch the attention of Bluesfest boss Peter Noble.
The Tintenbar artist is creating a new series of signature recycled art-guitars in time for the 2014 event - and with their unique combination of recycling and music, she hopes Mr Noble might like what he sees.
Jennifer, 57, has been making art since first being taught oil painting by her grandmother when she was 11, with mosaics and "upcycling" now her preferred medium.
One of her signature guitars can take weeks to prepare, as she fossicks for the perfect recycled material.
"I love going around collecting all of the materials and then breathing new life into objects," she said.
Ms Edwards' mixed-media work has sold at local markets and shops and her most recent all-white guitar features shells, beads, resin and mirrors.
"I'm planning to make a range of different coloured guitars for Bluesfest. I'd love to hear from Mr Noble."
