HIGH tides and big surf have revealed a wooden structure causing questions and wonder.

The wooden posts are located on Corindi Beach and were first discovered by a man walking his dog on Tuesday this week.

Local knowledge said the shoreline use to be a further 500 metres from where it is currently.

Could this be an undiscovered shipwreck or an old beach side dwelling?

The big seas have also caused significant erosion at Corindi Beach.
