Belgian star's wonder strike keeps City top of EPL

KEVIN de Bruyne's superb late strike ensured Manchester City stayed top of the English Premier League with 1-0 win at title rival Chelsea.

City was without Sergio Aguero, who broke a rib in a car crash, but dominated at Stamford Bridge before the Belgian's late goal kept the leaders unbeaten.

"We are so happy. The most important thing is to win the game but the way we played especially in the second half was pleasing. Chelsea could not play and had to do long balls,” City boss Pep Guardiola said.

Manchester United stayed second on goal difference after another comfortable win - a 4-0 success over rock-bottom Crsytal Palace at Old Trafford.

Juan Mata opened the scoring early before Marouane Fellaini added tgwo more goals either side of half-time.

Top scorer Romelu Lukaku notched his seventh gioal in as many league starts to complete the rout and leave Palace winless in seven games.

Roy Hodgson's men are now the first English team in the top six flights to not score a goal and lose all seven of their opening league fixtures.

Harry Kane scored another two goals as Tottenham cruised to its biggest win of the season in a 4-0 demolition of Huddersfield.

He took his tally to 11 goals in his last six appearances as Spurs moved above Chelsea to third with Ben Davies and Moussa Sissoko adding the other goals.

Senegalese international Diafra Sakho came off the bench to score a last-minute winner as West Ham defeated fellow strugglers Swansea 1-0 while Stoke City held off a frantic late onslaught as Peter Crouch scored the winner to edge Southampton 2-1.

Brazilian youngster Richarlison scored in time added on to give Watford a share of the points in a 2-2 draw with West Brom to move to fifth.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth were left frustrated as the Premier League strugglers failed to turn their dominance into goals in a 0-0 draw against Leicester.
