BEDROOM SHOCK: Man wakes to find intruder lurking by his bed

2.15PM: A MAN was shocked to wake up and find an intruder in his bedroom as a break and enter spree rocked Koongal overnight.

The man woke in the early hours of this morning to find the intruder lurking in his bedroom.

The Elphinstone St resident was awoken by the sound of his bedroom door opening.

The intruder then fled the home without stealing or damaging any property.

There were no signs of forced entry so it's unclear as to how the intruder gained entry to the home.

Police have taken a description of the intruder.

Meanwhile, police have confirmed that another break and enter that occurred on Rockonia Rd, Koongal last night was the result of opportunistic crime.

The thieves accessed an unlocked vehicle outside the property and found a garage remote in the car.

They used the remote to open the garage and enter the home.

Despite taking a mobile phone, no other property was reported stolen and the vehicle was left behind.

Police have conducted neighbourhood enquiries but currently have no leads.

The break and enter was reported to have occurred between 2am and 8am.

A vehicle was also broken into outside a property on Gable St, Koongal.

The owner noticed a torch light at 11pm last night around the side of her property, but was unable to see anybody when she looked outside.

The owner found her vehicle's unlocked door open and a number of keys taken from her lanyard.

Some of those keys were to her local sporting club.

On Dunbar St, barking dogs alerted a resident to another vehicle break-in.

The owner found their car's interior light left on, the rear door partially open, and some property discarded in neighbouring bins.

Cash was stolen from the centre console and two wallets.

The wallets were found discarded nearby.

10.35AM: CAR keys, house keys and a mobile phone was stolen from a North Rockhampton property as the owner slept overnight.

Police believe the thieves entered the home by crawling under an open garage door.

Rockhampton Police were called to the Rockonia Rd, Koongal property at 9.38am this morning when the owner noticed the items missing.

Police are also investigating another break and enter that was reported in Rockhampton at 8.20am.

Meanwhile, in Yeppoon, three teenagers were reported to have caused damage to a unit block at the Pinnacle overnight.

There is no indication as to the severity of the damage at this time.

Police will be assessing nearby CCTV footage if available.
