Bay schoolgirls ride for ribbons

Three girls from Byron Bay Public school competed in the recent Interschool Equestrian Challenge at Grafton – a first for the school.

Each girl performed really well over the three days of competition, winning 17 first place ribbons between them and many placings.

The highlights of the competition for the Byron Bay girls were, Tia Gotterson winning the junior dressage on the first day. Summer Chaseling won Champion Junior Girl in her riding class on day two and all three girls won their pony height class on day two. Belle Edwards came first in all her sporting events on day three.

With almost 300 horses and riders competing from about 40 schools, it was an outstanding effort from the girls.
