Ballina to host running of Byron Bay Cup

The Ballina Jockey Club is again hosting the running of the Byron Bay Cup set down for Sunday August 30.

Carrying record prizemoney of $25,000 it will mark the 121st anniversary of the running of the first Byron Bay Cup.

As well as an eight-race card, there will be ‘fashions in the field’ and music from Byron Bay band, ‘Blackbirds’.

The jockey club is continuing with the popular 100 Club concept in which racegoers are offered the opportunity to enjoy the day in the comfort of a VIP marquee.

For $100, 100 Club members get transport from Byron Bay to Ballina and return, entry to the course, food and beverages, a cap commemorating cup day and a free ticket to the Bangalow Cup meeting on October 5.
