The Bachelor's Matty J and Laura spend first weekend in Sydney

THE Bachelor's Matty J and Laura Byrne have spent their first weekend out and about together.

After jetting to Melbourne to see friends following Thursday's finale, the pair returned home to Sydney on Saturday.

They were spotted at Byrne's Rushcutter's home and also visiting her sister's home nearby. They walked her dog and appeared to be in good spirits, looking loved up.

The new lovers told Confidential last week they are keen to get back to normality after the whirlwind of appearing on the reality show.

Overnight, jewellery designer Byrne thanked Matty for gifting her a ring on the reality TV show.

"The curse of being a jewellery designer is that no one ever gives me jewellery, which sucks because it's one of my favourite things in the whole wide world," she wrote on Instagram.

"(Matty) is the first man brave enough to give this girl a taste of her own medicine and I'm so completely in love with my ring.

"Thanks for making it so wonderful @larsenjewellery thank goodness it didn't end up looking like a cheezel - jokes."
