Audi combines worlds of luxury

WITH the launch of the all-new A7 Sportback in Australia, Audi has entered a new segment.

The A7 Sportback has a design that combines the look a coupe with the practicality of a sedan.

But with four doors and four individual seats, Audi says there is no compromise on practicality with ample room for driver and passengers. Head room is generous for all occupants and comfort is second to none.

The A7 Sportback has a range of advanced driver-assist systems. An optimised MMI operating system is standard, including an optional head-up display that projects vital information onto the windshield, meaning the driver never has to remove their eyes from the road ahead. The intuitive touch-screen MMI system is a standard feature and can be used to perform numerous functions, including the hard-drive based navigation system, which is also standard.

The Audi A7 Sportback will be offered with two V6 engines in Australia. The first is a V6 turbo-diesel, which produces 180kW and 500Nm, pushing the A7 Sportback from 0-100kmh in 6.5 seconds, while consuming 6.0 litres per 100km.

The second V6 is the 3.0 TFSI petrol engine. Employing supercharging technology, this world-class engine develops 220kW and 440Nm, endowing the A7 Sportback with a 0-100kmh sprint time of 5.6 seconds.

All Australian-specified A7 Sportbacks will be combined with Audi's seven-speed S tronic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive.

“The A7 Sportback breaks new ground for our brand and brings Audi into an entirely new segment,” managing director of Audi Australia Uwe Hagen said.

“It is also a vehicle brimming with technology, in terms of construction, drivetrain and driver-assistance systems. The A7 Sportback combines graceful styling with excellent practicality and outstanding driving dynamics”.
