Aston Martin V12 Vantage offers pure driving experience

THIS week's blog is on one of my favourite Aston Martins of all time, the 2009 Aston Martin V12 Vantage.

Engineers that worked for Aston wanted to create the ultimate drivers car, so they took what was at the time, the most powerful engine they make from the DBS and threw it in the smallest car the make, the V8 Vantage. This created the V12 Vantage.

This engine was a 6.0-litre, 48-valve 12 cylinder engine which can produce up to 375 kilowatts (510 horsepower) at 6500rpm and 569 Newton metres of torque (420 pound-feet of torque) at 5750 rpm. As I said before, the engineers at Aston Martin wanted to create the ultimate drivers car, so they fitted a six-speed manual for the purest driving experience.

This transmission also reduces the kerb weight of the V12 Vantage down to just 1680 kilograms.

All of this allows this Aston Martin to launch from 0-100 kilometres per hour (0-62 miles per hour) in just 4.1 seconds, and it will keep accelerating until it reaches its top speed of 305 kilometres per hour (190 miles per hour).

As I stated earlier, this engine is the same as the one used in the Aston Martin DBS, but since then they have released the new Vanquish (that I did a blog on two weeks ago) that has ever more power.

This new powerful engine will be used in the updated Aston Martin V12 Vantage S that is due for an Australian release at the end of 2014.

The most noticeable visual differences between this V12 Vantage and the standard V8 Vantage include four carbon fibre scoops on the hood, an updated air intake, a carbon fibre front splitter, a more aerodynamic rear diffuser and lots of other little carbon goodies.

Some other features that you will find on this particular example includes a metallic Quantum Silver paint job, 19 inch, 10-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in performance tyres, speed sensitive wipers, four-wheel ABS as well as traction and stability control, xenon headlights, front and rear parking sensors, electronic brake force distribution, emergency braking assist, a leather and alcantara interior with front sport seats, satellite navigation and much more.

You can buy this beautiful 2009 Aston Martin V12 Vantage from EuroMarque for $252,990.
