Artists sought for new diary

LOCAL artists are being invited to lodge submissions for the 2009 Byron Bay Art Diary.

Submissions are open from February 11th - March 9th, 2009.

The diary provides a platform for established and emerging artists to showcase their work to both a national and international audience.

The 2009 edition was distributed in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, regionally and locally and sent to major galleries in France, London, New York and Tokyo.

The NSW Art Gallery, Queensland Art Gallery, GOMA, Tweed Regional Gallery, Dymocks Stores, Mary Ryan Stores and Berkelouw Book Stores were among over 100 stockists for the edition.

Artist Hobie Porter said the diary was a growing success and he felt privileged to have been selected as the 2009 cover artist as it gave him exposure on national and international levels.

Advertising sponsors wishing to promote their businesses through the diary will need to be quick as space strictly limited.

The Byron Bay Art Diary will continue to dedicate proceeds in support of The Buttery Therapeutic Community and PAN (Practicing Artists Network).
