BLUESFEST organisers have announced the third group of acts to perform at next year's festival, with Byron favourite Jack Johnson at the top of the list.

Festival director Peter Noble said Johnson was always listed by fans at Bluesfest as one of the top three most sought-after artists.

Also announced for 2014 was Elvis Costello with his band The Imposters; British folk artist Passenger; country star Kasey Chambers (who will be making her ninth appearance at the festival); RocKwiz Live; Grace Potter & the Nocturnals and Clairy Browne & The Bangin' Rackettes.

It is the 25th anniversary of Bluesfest, which began on a single stage at the old Piggery back in 1990 and attracted 6000 people.

The festival now attracts 80,000 people over five days to its own site at Tyagarah.

Previous announcements for the 2014 line-up include John Mayer, The Dave Matthews Band, The Doobie Brothers, Aaron Neville, Erykah Badu, Gregg Allman, Boz Scaggs, the John Butler Trio, Michael Franti & Spearhead, The Wailers, Steve Earl & The Dukes, Jimmee Vaughan, Suzanne Vega and many more.
