Strong effort by nippers



Three members of the Byron Bay nippers recently participated in the Cudgen Classic.

The classic involes a run, board paddle, swim and finish with a run.

Competition was strong with clubs travelling from Forster in the south as far as Caloundra in the north and clubs in between.

In the under 10's boys event Cameron Green competed strongly against the other competiters, having to contend with a strong sweep.

In the under 13 girls Shannon Hulbert-Green and Bridget Barnes took it to them.

Shannon lead the race from start to finish being pushed all the way.

Bridget was right up their finishing fourth in the board leg.

Overall Shannon was first and Bridget finished ninth.

A great effort by all three.

The Byron Bay Surf Club has a strong membership of nippers who regularly compete in local and state carnivals with some great results.
