Spectacular peace message

It was very colourful and of course - very peaceful as one would expect with a peace march. And it was pretty big too with an estimated 1000-plus people joining a parade through Byron Bay on Sunday as part of the Peace Festival. A skydiver triggered the start of the march from Main Beach when he landed with a huge 185 square metre peace flag. The peace parade made its way down Fletcher Street, into Jonson Street and eventually ending at the Butler Street Reserve where the peace festival continued for the rest of the day. This spectacular photo of the peace flag being parachuted down to Main Beach with Cape Byron in the background was taken by Steve Fitchett.
