Organic? transport launched

Byron Bay's latest transport service, a mini-fleet of pedal-powered rickshaws, hit the streets last week.

Made in Australia, the rickshaws feature the latest in bicycle gearing and stereo systems.

Chad Kolcze, the operator of the new business, Cycle Rickshaws, said the rickshaws had been successfully trialled over the past three months.

Chad said the "organic transport" rickshaws would help fight the ongoing parking and traffic issues in the town.

He said the rickshaws were available for taxi services and local tours at an "enjoyable sight-seeing speed".
