Changing face of Bay CBD

It's taken a long time, but a start has finally been made on the Byron Village development which will occupy the site behind the Great Northern Hotel through to Fletcher Street. Buildings on the site were demolished last week, however construction work is not expec- ted to start until the middle of next year and is not expected to be completed until 18 months later. With its central site, the development, incorporating 30 apartments, 27 bedsitters, shops, restaurants and two levels of car parking, is sure to change the face of the CBD.
