These are traditional sum- mer attractions at Brunswick Heads and continue to provide happy diversions for holiday- ing families who have been coming for generations. The highlight of the sum- mer holiday season at Bruns- wick is the annual wood chopping carnival, one of the biggest outside metropolitan
areas. It attracts axemen from around the world. The carnival will begin on January 8 with a spectacular fireworks display. Parking will be at a premi- um and Byron Shire Council has granted permission for the Mullumbimby Scouts to manage car parking in Memo- rial Park. Gold coin donations for the service will go to- wards a new roof for the Scout Hall.
