The Beach Hotel will be the venue next Wednesday - Australia Day - for a huge tsunami benefit concert.

Starting at 1 pm, the line-up includes Lisa Hunt, Tex Perkins, Bourbon Street, Odessa, The Feramones, Ngaiire from Australian Idol, George Smilovici, Mandy Nolan and surprise guests.

All artists are donating their services with the concert being co-ordinated by the East Coast Blues and Roots Festival.

There will be some great prize and auction items up for grabs including a trip to Fiji, surfboards, local art, clothing and tickets to the Blues Festival, Bette Midler, REM, Mark Knopfler and Willie Nelson.

Rugby league great, Brad Fittler has donated a State of Origin jumper for auction.

Money raised at the concert will help support the people of Hikkaduwa in south-west Sri Lanka and rumour has it this benefit is going to be a bonza benefit.

A similar concert will be held at the Hotel Brunswick on Sun- day, Janaury 30 starting at noon.

The line-up will include Big Music, Waiting for Brian, It's Probably Us, Peter C and the Propellers and Sanchez.

Money raised will go towards helping the people in the small Thai fishing village of Thap Lamu.
