Anglican book launched

More than 100 people turned out last Saturday to launch a book commemorating 100 years of the Anglican Church in the Brunswick Valley.

Guest of honour was ABC's 2NR presenter Fiona Wylie.

Compiler of the work, Flo Watson, was kept busy signing copies for eager buyers.

The story begins in the pioneering days of the Brunswick and tells of the building of St John the Evangelist Church in Mullumbimby in 1905.

As well as the documented history of the parish, it includes many reminiscences of church life.

Publication of the book is the first official function in centenary celebrations which will continue until June 2005.

The book is on sale at the Anglicare Op. Shop in Dalley Street or the parish office at St Martin's Church in Stuart Street, Mullumbimby.
