Sunday saw the final swim for the Winter Whales and presentation day take place in perfect conditions.

During the day several of the club's 'cousins', migrating humpbacks, swam by inside the Bay on their way south to provide some of our guests with their closest sightings of this annual migration.

The presentations were made by Whale president, Paul Bezrouchko, and the Whale of the Year went to Doug Earea.

Our Short Swim Champion was Ken Rutgerson and the Long Swim Champion was Dennis Mac- creadie.

Fred Templeman was our Fastest Whale in this year's annual Big Swim, our biggest event that we conduct each year by far.

Other awards went to Peter Bennett for performances best forgotten and to Whaless Scribe, Jonah, upon his retirement from that job.

President Paul also thanked our sponsors, workers and the public for their support over the season and looks forward to a better and righter future for the Winter Whales.
