Another win for McCormack

Leading Junior dirt bike racer, Tom McCormack, from Byron Bay, cemented his fourth '09 Queensland series win of the year with a stellar performance at the weekend.

McCormack, 16, blitzed the junior field at the final round of the Yamaha Sprint Cross-Country Series held near Mount Tamborine.

The Pro Motorcycles Queensland Enduro Team rider had already won the top junior awards in the Yamaha Queensland Enduro Championship, SEQ Enduro Championship and Enduro-Cross Series.

“I'm really happy with how the year turned out and with how I went today, it was a good way to finish my Queensland junior season,” McCormack said

“My YZ250 was great all year, too. I'm really happy to be healthy, I haven't rode well for the last few months because of being sick, so it was really good to get a good race under my belt.

“I'd especially like to thank Dave Maddock from Ficeda Imports from helping me out with all my AXO riding gear and Belray Oils this year and I'd also like to thank Ray Howard and Yamaha for all their support.

“And of course my mum and dad for driving me all around the country this year, we clocked up a few kilometres this year, that's for sure.”

Tom is also leading the NSW Sprint Championship going into the final round to be held on October 31 and November 1.

“I'm really looking forward to finishing my junior year on top,” he said.

“After the last New South Wales race, I'll be moving into the Senior Pro class.”
