Another Byron bashing

A POTTSVILLE man remains in an induced coma with severe head injuries after being bashed in Byron Bay on Saturday night.

Ambulance officers were called to Jonson Street near where the altercation took place about 11pm.

The man was unconscious when paramedics arrived and it wasn't clear whether he would fully recover, Byron paramedic Tony Steadman said. Police are investigating the alleged assault but would not comment on the circumstances.

Local shop workers yesterday reported the other men involved in the skirmish were off-duty nightclub bouncers who worked in the town.

Police have asked local pubs for their security footage so they can view what exactly happened.

Last May two similar incidents left an Irish tourist dead and a young partygoer injured.
