SERVING up the best lamb in MKR history couldn't fully redeem Annie and Lloyd.
The high school sweethearts were the first team to cook in the reality cooking show's instant restaurant redemption round.
They got off to a rocky start, with judge Manu Feildel slamming them for the presentation of their goat's cheese and onion tart.
"I think the presentation was horrible," Manu said.
"You need to do a little bit more than just a piece of lettuce around the tart, in saying that, the pastry was top-notch."
Lloyd's careful attention to their lamb racks and their perseverance in saving their green olive gremolata sauce paid off in the main course.
"This could be the best lamb in the history of my kitchen rules, so thank you," Pete Evans said.
"This is what eating lamb rack should be about… it was just melting in the mouth.
"I thought your gremolata was spectacular but I wanted more."
But the Adelaide couple came crashing back down to earth when the judges told them their beloved cheesecake was over baked.
"It's dense; it's dry; it's pasty," Manu said.
"It's not really a pleasant mouth feeling and it's got the wrong texture."
Earning a score of 59 out of a possible 110, Annie and Lloyd beat their previous score but another team will have to flop for them to avoid elimination.
Toowoomba best friends Sheri and Emilie will cook tomorrow night.
