CANADIAN Soul and pop songstress Ann Vriend is back to showcase her latest single Real Love from her upcoming EP Anybody's Different, due for release later in the year, plus songs from her last release For The People In The Mean Time.
The artist said Anybody's Different continues the work she started with For The People In The Mean Time.
"It was done by the same producer, and it continues the edgy soul sound that I was exploring on my last record," she said.
"Lyrically, it contains edgier visions of the world. It's not hardcore, but I am not shying away from anything either"
Ann Vriend said naming an album is a difficult decision for any artist.
"It's very important, as a lyricist, because you want to give people an idea of what they may be getting," she said.
"It's a fun job, that moment of decision, and sometimes the name of the new album comes to me ages before the launch, other, like I this case, it's a very last minute decision."
Vriend will be releasing another EP which she will be working on after her Australian tour, plus a full length album following soon after.
Ann Vriend said she is hoping to be able to spend a couple of days in the Northern Rivers after her local gig as it is the last one of her tour.
"We are hoping we are allowed to stay as that part of Australia is really beautiful and we don't get a chance to swim in the ocean much at all, because were I live is very far from any warm enough ocean to swim in," she said.
- At The Rails in Byron Bay on Sunday, March 12.
