Explosive Summer Bay finale

AN INCONSPICUOUS laptop bag will leave a lasting impact on Summer Bay.

The bomb hidden inside the bag is set to explode in the Aussie soap's dramatic 2103 finale airing next week.

"It changes hands a lot as it makes its way around the Bay," Nic Westaway told The Guide.

"There are going to be some heart-pounding moments.

"It's going to be in a lot of different places around a lot of beloved characters."

Westaway joined the show last year as troubled Braxton half-brother Kyle, who initially tried to take revenge for his father's death but has since settled into Summer Bay.

"I think he feels a part of the family now that he's running the family business," he said.

The 24-year-old, from Margaret River, has also settled into his new life in Sydney.

"Kyle's feeling part of the family so I'm feeling part of the family," he said.

"Sydney's like home now, which is nice."

Kyle's rocky relationship with Tamara seems to be settling into friendship, with the pair working on the upcoming music festival.

"It was always going to be tricky, I think he knew that going in," he said.

"I think there is a part of him that knows that it was never going to last. Whether he takes another shot or not, he'll have to decide if it's worth it and what it's going to do with his relationship with Casey. Tamara is not a tug-of-war toy."

Westaway hopes Kyle will become a bigger player next year.

In the long term, Westaway wants to direct either TV or film.

"I know I need to direct something at some point in my life," he said.
