Aloisi confident 'Roar Lite' can win against Glory

FOOTBALL: Brisbane Roar coach John Aloisi is confident a team missing experienced trio Thomas Kristensen, Thomas Broich and Michael Theo can still win in Perth on Saturday night.

The Roar will consolidate third spot on the A-League ladder with three points against the Glory at nib Stadium.

The fixture is one of several tough games ahead for the Roar, including Wednesday night's Asian Champions League clash at Suncorp Stadium against Kashima Antlers.

Aloisi said it was important to keep the players fresh for what lies ahead.

"We've got a heavy period coming up," he said. "I need to make sure, especially with older players, that they recover.

"We check the loading all the time and make sure they're all fresh leading into finals.

"It doesn't mean we are going to Perth not wanting to win the game and get three points.

"We are confident in the players we put out there that they can win it.

"We have got a lot of games coming up and we can't play the same XI every time."

Aloisi said he and the Roar staff had planned well ahead for this eventuality, saying he had faith in all his players.

"We have created a squad so there's good, healthy competition," he said.

"We have brought a number of the younger boys up to a level that we can afford to change players during a period like this.

"This was our plan at the end of last season when we knew we would be in the Champions League and wanting to win the grand final."

The Glory will have Socceroo Rhys Williams available after suspension, while fit-again skipper Rostyn Griffiths will return.

Kenny Lowe's team needs a win after a run of three games without a victory has seen it drop to sixth with Wellington now just four points off the final playoff spot.
