CAN your put a price on beauty? Well, in Alfa Romeo's case you can bet on somewhere between $80,000-$120,000.

There will be two derivatives, a basic production version and a "Launch Edition". The base model is expected to be close to $80,000, while the high-spec Launch Edition will be in the $100,000-$120,000 range.

The sleek and sexy two-seat 4C will arrive here inboth production guises by next June in limited numbers.

With Australia split into the Asia-Pacific region that includes Japan, Alfa's Australian arm is trying its best to get a large slice of the Asia-Pacific allocation with strong customer interest in the mid-engine, rear-wheel drive coupe.

Under the bonnet is a four-cylinder 1750 turbo petrol all-aluminium engine, seen previously in the Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde, but the 4C with have an extra sporty exhaust tune.

The four-potter is mated to an automatic twin dry clutch transmission, with steering wheel shift paddles. And, just as we have seen in other Alfas, it will have the DNA system which enables you to shift between drive modes: Dynamic, Natural and All Weather. But the 4C will get an extra persona, "Race".

Revealed at the Geneva motor show this year, it's four metres long, 200cm wide and 118cm high, sitting on a wheelbase of less than 2.4 metres.
