Ads take up 25 mins during hour-long episode of Blue Bloods
WHEN you watch commercial television stations, it is very frustrating; you just get interested in commercial ads or a station promo and they stuff it up by putting on the advertised program.
On Channel Ten on Monday night 10/3, the advertised program "Blue Bloods" was from 9.30-10.30pm. Out of this we got 35 minutes of the program and 25 minutes of commercial ads and station promos.
Under Telecommunication regulations governing TV stations there is a set ratio between commercial advertising/station promos and advertised programs. All commercial TV stations abuse these regulations and the relevant ombudsman seems to turn a blind eye. I know these stations' funding comes from advertising, but do they really have to cane the guts out of programs to make a buck?
