Aboriginal tracker in the search for French tourist
AN ABORIGINAL tracker was believed to be helping South Australian police navigate a remote cliff face where a body had reportedly been found in the search for a missing French tourist on Monday night.
Aurelie Lhorme was last seen in her car, which was parked outside a whale watching centre near the Nullarbor Plain at the weekend.
News.com.au reported staff at the centre had spoken to Ms Lhorme about sleeping on an access road on Saturday and had raised the alarm on Sunday when they noticed her car had not been moved.
A search, involving an Aboriginal tracker, resumed on Monday morning.
In a statement released in the afternoon, a South Australian Police spokesperson said there had been unconfirmed reports of a body sighted at the base of the cliffs near the Head of the Bight but warned it could be hours before the search team reached the area.
