Woman sustains head injuries as rock thrown at bus

A YOUNG woman, travelling home on a Sydney bus, has suffered head injuries after a rock was thrown through a window.

The 18-year-old was sitting next to a window on a bus in the western suburbs when a rock shattered the glass and hit her in the face late Sunday.

She was taken to Liverpool hospital and treated for lacerations.

Police are expected to brief the media later today.
