Third girl dies from injuries after Asiana crash

A THIRD girl has died as a result of a plane crash at a San Francisco airport earlier this month, bringing the death toll to three.

She reportedly died in hospital after receiving critical injuries.

The hospital treating the young girl made the announcement on Saturday morning AEST.

It is the latest grim news from the crash, after revelations that of the two teenage Chinese girls killed in the crash, one may have been hit by a fire truck attending the scene.

The girl was hidden by firefighting foam when the fire truck manoeuvred to better fight the fire.

A spokesperson for the San Francisco Police Department said the passenger was under foam when the fire truck moved in to fight the flames on the body of the jet.

The crash of the Boeing 777, which was carrying 291 passengers and 16 crew from Seoul to San Francisco, killed the three girls and injured more than 180 other people.
