Shoulder injury forces Tommy Haas out at Montreal

A SHOULDER injury forced German veteran Tommy Haas to retire at 5-0 down in the first set against Aussie Marinko Matosevic in the Montreal Masters.

The result gave Matosevic a third-round match-up against Benoit Paire overnight after the Frenchman upset No.8 seed, Switzerland's Stan Wawrinka.

Spaniard Rafael Nadal and Scot Andy Murray, both playing for the first time since Wimbledon, easily won their second-round matches.
