Police investigate links between deaths of two women

POLICE are investigating possible links between the stabbings of two women on opposite sides of Sydney last week.

A 28-year-old woman died from stab wounds to her stomach after she was attacked at a unit at Kyeemagh in Sydney's south on Thursday evening.

Hours later, a 30-year-old woman was stabbed in the western suburb of Westmead.

When she woke up from surgery at the weekend, the woman spoke to police about the Kyeemagh murder.

A strike force has been established to investigate both attacks.
