Palmer may have misused 'Professor' title

PROMINENT businessman and federal election candidate Clive Palmer may have misused the title of "adjunct professor" given to him.

Mr Palmer was reportedly given the title by Gold Coast's Bond University in 2008.

But The Australian reported Mr Palmer had dropped the word "adjunct" from the title, using it in promotional materials as simply "Professor Clive Palmer".

The honorary title was given to him after he provided business expertise to the university.

Mr Palmer has responded to The Australian, saying he was a professor, and the reporter who wrote the article had "academia envy".
