Few details in Coalition's small business policy release

THE release of the Coalition's policy for small business had no surprises for the sector on Monday.

Opposition Leader Tony Abbott officially announced the Coalition policy, but it was scant on any new details.

The policy reiterated promises to abolish the carbon tax, cut company tax by 1.5% and cut government regulation by some $1 billion a year.

Mr Abbott told the New South Wales business chamber the sector had been neglected for too long.

He said the Coalition had promised to cut taxes and reduce regulation, and that's what it would do.

While much of the policy had already been released, it also promised an "independent root and branch review" of competition law.

It also confirmed the Coalition would defer Labor's increase in superannuation payments for two years.
