Man fronts court over pregnant girlfriend's death

A MAN accused of stabbing his pregnant girlfriend to death has fronted a Sydney court.

Chris Andersen, 38, handed himself in to the Maroubra Police Station on Saturday afternoon, eight hours after 23-year-old Allira Green was found dead on the floor of her unit.

He was denied bail on Sunday.

Police have confirmed Ms Green was five-months pregnant at the time of her death.

Posts on her Facebook page revealed she had recently discovered she was expecting a baby boy.

"...nothing will bring me down from this high im on koz IM HAVING A BOYYYYY!!!!!", she wrote

Other posts suggested she had moved from Queensland to New South Wales earlier this year and was enjoying a fresh start.

Just two weeks ago she wrote "Deadset loving life right now, everything is going exactly how I want it to for the first time in sooooooo long...I couldn't be more proud of myself".

Several photos of the mum to be showed her proudly displaying her growing baby bump.

Her partner is believed to have been living at the house where she was killed.

Police were called to unit in the early hours of Saturday morning following reports of a domestic dispute.

Mr Anderson was still being interviewed by detectives on Sunday night.

He was expected to be charged with murder.
