The 47-year-old Essential Energy employee was working on power lines at Pacific Palms, near Forster, when he was electrocuted about 10.30am Monday.

Ambulance crews rushed to the site but the worker, who was based at the company's Bulahdelah depot, could not be revived.

An Essential Energy spokesperson said they were "deeply saddened" to confirm the man had died and offered their deepest condolences to the man's family and work mates.

They said the company was working with WorkCover and NSW Police to determine how the tragedy occured and would continue to offer support to the man's loved ones.
