Egypt launches criminal investigation into deposed PM

EGYPT will launch a criminal investigation against deposed President Mohamed Morsi, with prosecutors saying they were considering allegations of spying, inciting violence and destroying the economy.

The country's public prosecutor's office said on Saturday it would look at Morsi and eight other Islamist figures including Muslim Brotherhood leader Mohamed Badie

Al-Jazeera reported that Morsi - Egypt's first freely elected leader - has been held at an undisclosed location since the army removed him from power on July 3, but has not yet been charged with any crime.
