Confusion reigns in Egypt as new Prime Minister sought

CONFUSION surrounds the appointment of a new prime minister in Egypt.

The BBC reports the country's new interim President Adly Mansour said pro-reform leader Mohamed Elbaradei had not been appointed to the top post despite earlier reports.

The move towards an interim leader came after days of violent protests and the removal of Islamist leader Mohammed Morsi.
