Childcare centre caught up in Sydney gun war

A CHILDCARE centre has been caught up in Sydney's gun war with the discovery of a revolver and 58 rounds of ammunition in the back garden.

Cowardly criminals are believed to have stashed the weapons behind a fence at the Greenacre centre.

Police raided the centre late Thursday and informed staff of their discovery.

A police dog searched the grounds before the centre was declared safe.

The gun will undergo testing to determine whether it is linked to any crimes.

A police spokesperson said on Friday that staff were co-operating with detectives and no arrests had been made.
