75 firies attend industrial blaze

Claudia Baxter

MORE than 75 firefighters were called to one of Sydney's largest industrial estates in the early hours of Friday morning after a blaze tore through a whitegoods warehouse.

About 3.30am, a security guard phoned 000 but by the time help arrived it was too late.

It took firefighters several hours to control the blaze which had threatened a neighbouring tissue factory.

The building, which houses whitegoods, electrical appliances and a van, was destroyed.

No-one was injured.

Fire investigators arrived at the scene about noon Friday.

Investigations are continuing.
