$1 million Byron home up for grabs

A luxury furnished apartment in Byron Bay valued at more than $1 million could be yours for just $2.

The apartment, part of the Butter Factory at Byron development in Jonson Street, is being raffled as part of the Mater Prize Home Lottery which raises funds for the Mater Mothers’ and Mater Children’s Hospitals in Brisbane and the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney.

Last year more than 880 babies and children from NSW were cared for at the Mater.

The lottery unit is the first Mater Prize Home to be offered in Byron Bay.

It was launched last Friday with a free barbecue supplied by the Byron Shire News, giveaways and the chance to win a $325 hot air balloon ride over the Byron hinterland.

Staff from the Mater Foundation attended Friday’s launch.

Mater marketing manager Zita Kapper said the launch was held to show people through the lottery unit, and to also raise awareness of the work done by the foundation.

“We are really happy with how tickets for the lottery are selling,” she said.

The unit is open for display from 9am to 5pm daily until June 23.

For more information on the lottery unit go to www.materprizehome.com.au

The lottery will be drawn on June 25.
