Set on 172 acres of macadamia and avocado trees, high on the hills of the Alstonville Plateau between Lismore and Ballina, House With No Steps in Alstonville has now changed its name to Summerland House Farm - A business enterprise of House With No Steps and launching a beautiful new look and brand new products for its tourism facilities. Expanding on its appeal as a 'must do' attraction in the Northern Rivers, Summerland House Farm is growing to include even more fun activities.
House With No Steps Northern Region was established in 1971. Nestled amongst 69 hectares of fertile farmland on the lush North Coast of NSW, this was the perfect location to offer farming as an outdoor employment option for people with disabilities.
Now known as Summerland House Farm, Currently, Alstonville's House With No Steps site provides employment and training opportunities for 89 people with a disability. These areas of employment and business include Office Administration, Avocado and Macadamia Nut Farming, Macadamia Dehusking, Tropical Fruit Packing, Agriculture, Garden Maintenance, Restaurant and Hospitality services, Retail and Tourism.
Our goal is to help people with disabilities achieve independence.
Independence is achieved through:
-Employment Services - giving people economic security and access to job opportunities.
-Residential and Support Services - encouraging people to participate in community life and supporting them throughout.
-Recreation Programs - supporting people in their leisure time activities.
