he Byron Bay Public School’s rugby union team gets ready to participate in the gala day at Bangalow last Friday.
Nearly 200 junior rugby union players from throughout the Far North Coast attended the inaugural Australian Rugby Union Bangalow primary schools rugby gala day last Friday.
Held at the Bangalow sportsfields, players participated in under 10 and 12 rugby union games.
Development manager for Australian Rugby North Coast, Bruce Frame, said girls and boys had participated in the gala day.
“The day was held to promote the Bangalow Rugby Union Club and to promote rugby union on the North Coast,” he said.
“The 2010 season starts in six weeks and we will have 1300 kids playing from throughout the Far North Coast.
“The Bangalow club has fantastic fields for playing sport and we hope to run a few more gala days in the future.”
