Byron Bay Public School kids could soon be known as ‘mud runners’ after their success at recent Primary School Sports Association events.

Pupils from the school have produced some of the best results ever despite the wet and muddy conditions.

The school sent 12 runners to Murwillumbah to compete in the Regional Cross Country Championships and were pleasantly surprised when five of them were selected to represent the North Coast Region.

As well, Ava Cormack was the 9 years girl champion, with Rainer Congdon taking 2nd place in the same event. The two will be competing in the PSSA State Championships which will be held at Eastern Creek in Western Sydney on July 31.
