Shire shows its flair

CULTURAL distractions abounded during Harmony Day celebrations at the Byron Community Centre at the weekend - including exotic dancing from not one but two belly dancing groups.

The flamenco dance class for children was also a big hit - perhaps especially with the parents - but it was the variety of foods available- Indonesian, Japanese, Chilean - that scored highest amid the feedback, according to co-ordinator Yvonne Jessup.
