MULLUMBIMBY Ex-Services Club will be ablaze with exotic blooms for the next two days as the Byron District Orchid Society showcases its 57th show.

"The rain earlier this year produced an abundance of growth and we hope this will give us a bigger and better showing than ever," president Penny Fox said.

The competition is open to all orchid growers in the district, and locals with a green thumb are also encouraged to enter.

Members will set up at 3pm today (September 6), while the public is invited to bring their orchids in before 5.30pm. Judging will take place at 6pm.

"There is no charge to enter an orchid and admission is only $1 for adults, while children can come for free," Penny said.

Doors open at 10am on both days and close at 5pm on Friday and 3.30pm on Saturday.

"There will be a wide range of members' orchids for sale after 10am on both days," Penny said.

"The orchids are very reasonably priced, which is always a huge drawcard for excited orchid enthusiasts."
