Local talent to shine at festival

YOU'VE got two days to get your face on, your feathers ready or your vocals warmed up.

And if you're more voyeur than performer, you've got until September 1 to organise a night out to see the results.

Coffs Harbour's CoastOut Festival is putting the spotlight on local talent for this year's CoastScout Talent Competition.

From rock'n'roll dancers to budding singers to drag artists, contenders for the 2012 CoastScout competition are encouraged to apply at coastout.com.au by Friday.

The first heat will be hosted by Sandy Bottom at the Plantation Hotel on September 1, 7pm.

Successful contestants will have the chance to hit the Big Stage on the last weekend in October for the CoastOut 2012 Fair Day.

The CoastScout Competition is just part of the entertainment line up planned for this year's Fair Day, also featuring a live DJ and a special appearance by Bob Downe.

On the same night as the first CoastScout heat - the first official event for CoastOut 2012 - the Planation Hotel will also host the SWEET Dance Party ,with local DJs Dirty Luck and Lady K plying their mix of commercial hits, house classics and dance floor anthems.

Get along to coastout.com.au  for more.
