BIANCA Brown wishes she was born with gills.
The 20-year-old photographer recently captured amazing turtle photos about 50m off Moffat Beach.
Bianca, of Bokarina, said she did her best work when she was in the surf, snapping stunning shots of wildlife.
She took more than 350 photographs that day as she followed the turtle around for 45 minutes.
It's just a small part of the portfolio she has slowly built up for herself with her camera, a Canon 1D Mark II in water casing.
"The turtle was very friendly - he even let me watch him eat," she said.
"I've seen turtles out surfing before when they've popped their heads up, but I've never swum with one for that long.
"He was just so close."
The ocean has always beckoned Bianca.
She has had a deep love for the water since first learning to surf at the age of 12.
Her passion for photography has grown over the past five years from a hobby into a possible career.
Now the weather is warming up and she can ditch the wetsuit, she's making plans to spend even more time shooting in the ocean.
"Next, I want to see some dolphins and sharks. I'd love to go to South Australia and do some cage dives with the great whites," she said.
"I need to step up my game."
Bianca is studying a Bachelor of Science and Arts at the University of the Sunshine Coast but has just taken six months off to save money for travel.
