Golden moment for Byron Conservation area
CAPE Byron State Conservation Area has won gold at the 2012 NSW Tourism Awards held last week in Sydney.
The area took out the top gong in the Tourist Attractions category.
Byron's mega-music festival Bluesfest won silver in the Major Festivals and Events category while the Byron Beach Cafe also scooped silver in the Tourism Restaurants and Catering Services division.
Spanning 31 categories, the winners were judged from hundreds of entires.
