AUSTRALIAN jazz legends Galapagos Duck will play the Bangalow Bowlo next Wednesday as they take to the road for their 2013 Fresh and Crispy tour.
Some say that Galapagos Duck put Australian jazz on the map.
They've won national and international awards, played the world over and recorded with the likes of Nina Simone and Ray Charles, James Morrison, Tommy Emmanuel, Don Burrows and Winifred Atwell.
The band's latest line-up includes original sax player Willy Qua (who harks back to 1973) and bass player/ guitarist John Conley, who boasts a mere 30-year association with the band.
Then there's renowned jazz drummer Dave Goodman, Richard Booth (sax, clarinet, flute and steel drum) and Wil Sargisson (keys), who was only born after the original Galapagos Duck had been playing The Basement for 11 years.
Doors open at 7pm for the 7.30pm show. Tickets are $20, visit bangalowbowlo.com.au, phone 6687 2741 or get them from the club.
